Judges

The Novella Award runs annually. Each year the competition is judged by a well-established author.

Writers such as Jenn Ashworth, author of The Friday Gospels and the 2014 judge, and Alison Moore, author of The Lighthouse and 2015 judge, are happy to be involved in the award. Both writers have supported the competition since it was established as the MMU Novella Award in 2014. Their contributions have gone beyond choosing the winning manuscript, with both authors leading Writing 101 workshops at Liverpool John Moores University. Alison has also written for our Featured Novella section. With their ongoing support The Novella Award continues to grow.

Salt Publishing editor, Nicholas Royle recently joined the 2015 panel and will sit alongside Alison Moore when judging the competition.
